For the band Muse, we created a special stage piece: an 8-meter-high mask made of angled surfaces. It worked as both a mirror and a see-through screen. When the LED wall behind it was off, the mask looked like a mirror. When the wall lit up, the visuals shone through the mask’s nearly invisible structure, creating a dramatic effect on stage.
The mask had to be almost fully transparent, which left very little space for support. Its uneven, multi-sided design made it hard to combine with the custom LED wall. Both parts had to be pre-assembled and lifted into place from one point, within the time of two songs, and stay under 2 tons so it could rotate safely. We built a precise, lightweight frame with smooth connection points, allowing quick and accurate setup during the show.
The result was a bold and moving stage piece that combined technology and art. It worked perfectly with the lighting and video, creating a powerful moment in the show, while also meeting all the technical and touring requirements.
